History
This style of small, hand placed ceramic mosaic has been designed in entrances since the late 1800s and found its signature era in the 1920s and ’30s.
The Art Deco movement took these small, geometric tiles and pushed them into bold sunbursts, chevrons, fans and scalloped borders, glamorous, graphic patterns built specifically to frame an entrance and announce it.
That same tradition, made to make a big impression at the entrance, is what this floor continues today for businesses.

About our studio
Mioa Mar is a real working studio in Valencia, Spain.
Every floor starts here, designed and prepared before it ships to wherever your business is.
What started as a pottery studio with years of hands on work at the wheel, transitioned into another project. A keen interest for interior design, pattern and tile flooring pulled us toward another ceramic craft with porcelain at it’s heart.
Ceramic floor mosaics for businesses became the studio’s real focus, still handmade, still designed with the same attention to detail.
